The Blowing Rock area offers a number of attractions for all ages. These include The Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, art galleries, museums, farms, wineries and much more. We've put together a photo gallery that shows some of the beautiful panoramas and landscapes that area residents enjoy every day. However, the only way to truly understand what Blowing Rock has to offer requires just one  visit and you'll see why so many have chosen to call this picturesque mountain village "home."


Long range mountain views can be enjoyed in many restaurants, cafes, and back porches in Blowing Rock. The Blue Ridge Mountains area a great place to go camping, hike or just sit back and enjoy the beautiful mountain views. The High Country has many swimming holes on rivers and streams. These are great places to cool off in the summer or take a picnic lunch. Appalachian State University in Boone NC is a North Carolina state college tucked away in the mountains. The Blowing Rock is a great tourist attraction well known for it's history, stories, and breathtaking views. Watauga Lake is located only 30 minutes away from Blowing Rock in Tennessee and is surrounded by Cherokee National Forest. You can never get tired of the numerous rivers, streams, and walking trails located in Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. Grandfather Mountain is a great place to bring the family to view wildlife and enjoy the outdoors. The Grandfather Mountain is known for it's mile high swinging bridge. There are many private golf courses and country clubs including Elk River and Diamond Creek located in Banner Elk NC. Homes in Blowing Rock located on mountain sides offer the best views, sunsets, and nature viewing opportunities. A hot air balloon rides are the best way to take in the mountain views and settings. Boone Lake offers boating, kayaking, swimming, and great fishing. The Blue Ridge Parkway is known for long range mountain views, winding mountain roads with many places to stop and enjoy the natural setting. Linn Cove Viaduct during the summer. The Linn Cove Viaduct is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway close to Grandfather Mountain. Linville Falls has great hiking trails and swimming holes. Open to the public, Sugar Mountain Golf Course is minutes away and has challenging terrains for all skill levels. Blowing Rock is known for its beautiful mountain homes and amazing views. Blowing Rock is located within a 30 minute drive to three different ski mountains including Beech, Sugar and Appalachian Mountains. Asheville has all of the amenities of a large city but is located in a mountain setting only an hour and a half from Blowing Rock NC. Asheville NC is known for it's music scene, arts and dining. There are many hiking trails and nature walks throughout the High Country including Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. Boone Golf Course is a semi private country club open to the public and members. Appalachian University, also knows as App State, is located on King Street in Boone. Appalachian State University is 15 minutes from Blowing Rock. Watauga lake and Boone lake are only a short drive from downtown Blowing Rock and offer fishing, boating, and relaxing views. Sunsets over the mountains in Blowing Rock can be enjoyed on most mountain side homes and condos.
