The Blowing Rock area offers a diverse array of nearby attractions that appeal to all ages. These include The Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, art galleries, museums, farms, wineries and much more. Long range mountain views can be enjoyed in many restaurants, cafes, and back porches in Blowing Rock.The Blue Ridge Mountains area a great place to go camping, hike or just sit back and enjoy the beautiful mountain views.The High Country has many swimming holes on rivers and streams. These are great places to cool off in the summer or take a picnic lunch.Appalachian State University in Boone NC is a North Carolina state college tucked away in the mountains.The Blowing Rock is a great tourist attraction well known for it's history, stories, and breathtaking views.Watauga Lake is located only 30 minutes away from Blowing Rock in Tennessee and is surrounded by Cherokee National Forest.You can never get tired of the numerous rivers, streams, and walking trails located in Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk.Grandfather Mountain is a great place to bring the family to view wildlife and enjoy the outdoors.The Grandfather Mountain is known for it's mile high swinging bridge.There are many private golf courses and country clubs including Elk River and Diamond Creek located in Banner Elk NC.Homes in Blowing Rock located on mountain sides offer the best views, sunsets, and nature viewing opportunities.
