Beech Mountain

With an elevation of over 5,500 feet above sea level, Beech Mountain is the highest town east of the Rocky Mountains, and sits atop the Blue Ridge Mountain range. Beech Mountain is located in both Avery and Watauga counties, and has a year-round population of 350, which increases up to 10,000 during winter, and 5,000 during summer.
